The Andersen Banducci Boise Twilight Criterium is a much-anticipated event every year for bicycling enthusiasts and the general public alike.  The designated area for the event goes from a handful of set up crew to thousands thronging the sidewalks in mere hours.  Its widespread appeal draws families, athletes and out-of-towners to the downtown Boise area for an evening of fast paced bicycle races that often include celebrity athletes.
This year Olympic Gold medalist Kristin Armstrong was on hand for autographs and participation in the Kids' Ride, surely inspiring many an Olympic dream.  Youngsters of all ages and abilities turned out for this wonderful chance to meet and ride alongside their role model.
Between races, attendees could enjoy the various vendors set up around the area and compare different brands and styles of bicycles and accessories.
Once the bicycling competitions started around 2:45PM, everyone was treated displays of bicycling skill that is the hallmark of the Criterium.
Mother Nature threatened to put a monkey wrench in the whole event with bouts of gusting winds, downpours and lightning, but these superior athletes persevered to complete their races, win top prizes and gain prestige by adding the title to their accolades.  The streets may be clear of all traces of this year's Criterium, but plenty of people are already looking forward to and planning for next year!
