Calling all Junior Chefs! We will be traveling around the world discovering cuisine from France, Italy, Poland, and Colombia. From France, we will make a crespeou, a clafoutis and Quiche. The trip to Italy will include making fresh pasta, calzones and meatball minestrone Soup. Poland will feature pierogies, ciasto malinowe z kruszonka (Polish raspberry crumble cake), and placki ziemniaczane, otherwise known as potato pancakes. Our final destination is Colombia, South America! (Our Academy Director was a foreign exchange student there in the 1970s.) You will learn how to make pandebono, or Colombian Cheese Bread, arroz con pollo (chicken and rice) with plantains, papas rellenas, or Colombian stuffed potatoes. Come join us on an International Adventure that includes your personal passport with information about the different cultures and family life and new phrases for you to share with your family and friends. Our Kitchen Academy is a perfect place for students to develop, build upon, and sharpen their culinary skills as they progress through the week. They learn important lessons about safety, quality ingredients, math skills, reading, etiquette, table settings, proper food handling, team work, and culinary creativity as they travel the world through food.
