St. Alphonsus Festival of Trees 2014

Starting with the Black Tie Gala on November 25th and continuing through the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend, this Festival always delivers heartwarming displays of seasonal cheer and splendor. Numerous creatively decorated trees, wreaths, cards and other holiday displays line the walls, halls and meeting rooms of the Boise Centre on the Grove.

All of it was so cunningly laid out that children, young and old, were delighted around every corner with a festive view.

The community involvement is extraordinary as local businesses, clubs, organizations and schools create items for sale in the spirit of the season to raise funds for this year's beneficiary:  St. Alphonsus' Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Expansion.
In the main banquet room where many of the musical and dance acts performed, the trees ranged along the walls provided many an exclamation of delight as details were discovered by attendees browsing or children participating in the Scavenger Hunt.

Once out in the hallways, a variety of activities were available in the smaller conference rooms branching off of it.  These included an interactive train display hosted by the Treasure Valley Chapter of the Train Collector's Association, the North Pole Village, the Gift Shop and Visits with Santa.
Children had numerous opportunities to play games, color ornaments and be entertained by the talented actors/actresses telling stories or the wonderful volunteers who provided piano music in the main entry area.

It's easy to see how the St. Alphonsus Festival of Trees puts the "heart" into heartwarming with its spectacular fundraising event.  We look forward to next year!
